INTEGRATION OF ISLAMIC VALUES ​​AND SPORTSMANSHIP IN EXTRACURRICULAR SPORTS ACTIVITIES AT MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic values ​​and sportsmanship in sports extracurricular activities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools) using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study is motivated by the importance of strengthening character education through non-academic activities capable of fostering a balanced development of moral, social, and spiritual aspects. The research employs an SLR approach, involving the identification, selection, and synthesis of relevant literature from scholarly databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, DOAJ, and Scopus. The literature selection process involved identification, screening based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and an evaluation of article suitability regarding the research focus. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively using the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that integrating Islamic values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and ukhuwah (brotherhood) into sports extracurricular activities effectively shapes students' sportsmanlike behavior. Sportsmanship is reflected in attitudes of respecting rules, valuing opponents, and accepting match results gracefully. The successful implementation of Islamic values ​​and sportsmanship is influenced by the roles of teachers, coaches, the school, and the family environment in providing continuous character training. The study concludes that sports extracurricular activities serve as an effective medium for supporting character education based on Islamic values ​​in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
