Peer-Review Process

Rimba Torean Journal implements a rigorous, transparent, and objective peer review process to maintain the quality, integrity, and credibility of every published article. The journal adopts a single-blind review system, in which the reviewers know the authors’ identities, but the authors do not know the reviewers’ identities. This approach ensures fair assessment of each manuscript based on high academic standards.

1. Submission and Initial Evaluation

Every submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, and initial quality. Manuscripts that pass this stage will receive an identification number and proceed to the peer review stage.

2. Peer Review

The review process is conducted by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers may come from the editorial board or external scientific partners with recognized academic reputations. They assess the manuscript’s scientific contribution, originality, relevance, and clarity of presentation. The review process is typically completed within a maximum of 8 weeks.

Authors are expected to submit their work honestly, without fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or inappropriate data manipulation. All communications, including review results and revision requests, are sent via the journal’s official email.

3. Review Criteria

  • Scientific Quality: Is the research conducted with appropriate methods and valid results?
  • Originality: Does the study offer new findings or innovative approaches?
  • Relevance: Is the topic aligned with the journal’s focus and aims?
  • Clarity of Presentation: Is the manuscript clearly structured, systematic, and easy to understand?
  • Research Ethics: Does the manuscript comply with ethical standards in research and publication?

Reviewers are encouraged to provide constructive feedback that helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.

4. Review Duration

Rimba Torean Journal aims to complete the peer review process within a maximum of 8 weeks. In cases requiring major revisions, the duration may be adjusted by mutual agreement between the editor and the author.

5. Decision and Revision

Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editor will decide the manuscript status as follows:

  • Accepted: Accepted without revision.
  • Minor Revisions: Requires minor revisions before acceptance.
  • Major Revisions: Requires substantial improvements before reconsideration.
  • Rejected: Does not meet the journal’s publication criteria.

Authors must submit their revisions according to reviewer feedback within the timeframe set by the editor.

6. Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding the manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations, editorial board discussions, and adherence to the journal’s ethical and publication policies.

7. Confidentiality

All peer review activities are conducted under strict confidentiality. Reviewers are not allowed to share, distribute, or discuss the manuscript’s content outside the formal review process.

8. Review Process Improvement

Rimba Torean Journal is committed to continuously improving the quality and transparency of its review process. Feedback from both authors and reviewers is highly valued to enhance the efficiency, fairness, and academic quality of the review system.
