About the Journal
Ncera: Journal of Community Innovation is a peer-reviewed scientific journal focusing on social innovation and community development. The name Ncera is adopted from Ncera Village, Belo District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, as a distinctive local identity of the journal. The name represents the journal's commitment to recognizing the importance of local contexts, community knowledge, creativity, and collective potential in the development of innovative solutions to social and community challenges.
Philosophically, the use of Ncera reflects the idea that meaningful innovation does not emerge only from formal institutions or technological advancement, but can also grow from the knowledge, experience, creativity, resources, and collective initiatives of communities. The name therefore symbolizes a connection between local identity and broader social transformation, where community-based knowledge and innovation can be developed, evaluated, shared, adapted, and applied in different contexts.
In accordance with this philosophy, Ncera: Journal of Community Innovation focuses on social innovation and community development, including community-based innovation, local knowledge and assets, social entrepreneurship, participatory innovation, community resilience, sustainable development, and the evaluation, impact, and replication of innovative community practices. The journal seeks to provide a scholarly platform for research and knowledge that contributes to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable community development.
