PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Ncera: Journal Of Community Innovation is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics in scientific publication. This statement is based on guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and reflects our dedication to ensuring the integrity, transparency, and professionalism of the publication process.

1. DUTIES OF EDITORS

·      Fair Evaluation: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance, without discrimination.

·      Confidentiality: All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.

·      Conflict of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished materials for personal research without written permission from the author.

·      Decision Making: Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on reviewer feedback and journal policies.

·      Handling Misconduct: Editors must take responsive measures when ethical complaints arise regarding submitted or published manuscripts.

2. DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

·      Objective Assessment: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive feedback.

·      Confidentiality: Manuscripts sent for review must be treated as confidential.

·      Timeliness: Reviewers should notify the editor if they cannot complete the review within the allocated time.

·      Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers must identify relevant published work not cited by the author.

·      No Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should decline reviews where conflicts of interest exist.

3. DUTIES OF AUTHORS

·      Originality: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite all sources.

·       Plagiarism: Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication.

·      Data Accuracy: Authors must present accurate data and provide access to raw data upon request.

·      Authorship: Only individuals who significantly contributed to the research should be listed as authors.

·      Disclosure: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest.

·      Errors in Published Works: If errors are discovered, authors should promptly notify the editor for retraction or correction.

4. DUTIES OF THE PUBLISHER

·      Support Ethical Practices: The publisher ensures that the editorial team follows COPE guidelines.

·      Quality Assurance: The publisher works to maintain high-quality academic and ethical standards.

·       Intellectual Property Protection: The publisher safeguards publishing rights and copyright agreements.

5. ETHICAL VIOLATIONS AND ACTIONS

Any form of ethical misconduct including plagiarism, falsification of data, duplicate publication, and authorship manipulation will result in appropriate actions such as manuscript rejection, article retraction, notification to institutions, and possible publication bans.
