The name Ncera is adopted from Ncera Village, Belo District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, as the distinctive local identity of the journal.
The use of the name Ncera reflects the journal's appreciation of local contexts, community knowledge, creativity, cultural resources, and collective potential as important foundations for developing innovative solutions to social and community challenges.
Philosophically, the name represents a connection between local identity and broader social transformation. Community knowledge and local innovation can be developed, evaluated, shared, adapted, and applied in different contexts.
